Campus Facilities

MAIN CAMPUS - ROMEOVILLE

Helpful Information

Parking
During the academic year, parking arrangements must be made in advance for large groups coming to campus during the week. Throughout the summer, parking is available in the parking lot nearest your destination.

TV
TVs for public use are in the lounges of each of the Residence Halls. All rooms are cable ready for those who have brought their own sets.

Laundry
Public Laundry facilities are located in each of the Residence Halls. For the safety of your belongings, do not leave your laundry unattended.

Use of the Telephone
To dial an on-campus number from an on-campus phone you need only dial the last four digits. For example: 815-836-5525 is dialed 5525. To dial a local number, enter "9" followed by "1" and then the ten digit number.

ATM Machine
An ATM Machine is located in the De La Salle Hall South, past the mailroom and Follett bookstore.

Flyers Den
The Flyers Den is located on the lower level of the Student Union. Featuring food and beverages, pool tables, video games, televisions and CD Jukebox, the Flyers Den is a great place to relax and have a good time. During the summer months the Den is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or by special arrangement for your group.

Student Recreation and Fitness Center
The Student Recreation and Fitness Center is available for use by Conference guests during regular hours of operation. Depending upon the nature of your group, the Student Recreation & Fitness Center may be devoted exclusively to your purposes.

Mail Room
The University's Mail Room is located in De La Salle Hall South. The mail room offers stamps for sale and accepts mail for the US Post Office. Mail Room hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. A mail box is located outside the main entrance to the Learning Resource Center.

Dining Hall
Please bring your provided camp/event ID to all meals and present it to food service personnel when eating in University Dining Facilities.

General Policies

Participants need to comply with all federal, state and local laws. Participants are also expected to comply with rules and regulations of °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø as set forth in the student handbook.

Abandoned Personal Property
Personal property left on the premises by a participant is tagged indicating where the property was found and then held for 30 days by Campus Security.

Alterations
Participants will not be allowed to make alterations, changes, repairs, remodeling, and/or painting of the premises or any University equipment. Participants are not allowed to change any locks or move any furniture from its usual location.

Antenna
No outside antennas are permitted.

Chaperones for Minors
24-hour a day chaperones are required by contract with the group or organization meeting on °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø's campus. The chaperones are responsible for the security and behavior of the minors in their charge. An adult must live in the residence hall assigned to the minors, and must accompany them to their meals and be available at all times.

Damages or Loss of University Property
Accurate records of room and hall conditions will be maintained and updated by the Conference Services Office and damages, except normal wear and tear, will become the responsibility of the sponsoring organization. In every case, these charges will be specifically itemized and documented.

Fireworks, Firearms and Weapons
The possession of fireworks, firearms, weapons or candles is prohibited.

Gambling
NO gambling is permitted on the campus of °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø.

Loss or Damage to Organization Property
The University is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property of the Conference Group, its participants or their guests.

No Pets
Pets are not permitted in University residence halls. Anyone found with an animal (excepting disability companions) will be asked to board it an appropriate kennel and the participant/organization will be assessed a $50.00 cleaning and extermination fee.

Right of Entry
Duly authorized agents and representatives of the University have the right to enter housing space for the purpose of inspection and maintenance. The University is not liable for loss or damage to personal property, including damages caused by employees in the performance of their duties.

Window Ledges and Safety
For safety reasons, no one is permitted to be outside on the window ledge for any reason. Additionally, no objects are permitted outside on the window ledge (plants, laundry bottles etc.)

Alcohol Policy
Alcohol is not permitted in the residence halls, halls of buildings or public areas on campus. Alcohol is only permitted at pre-determined times and pre-determined areas by participants of legal drinking age.

Smoking
°µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø complies with the Indoor Clean Air Act, which states that smoking is prohibited in public areas of all buildings. Please see designated smoking areas around the campus.

Safety and Security

Fire
If the fire alarm sounds, you must evacuate the building. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the fire evacuation procedures posted on the bulletin board on each floor. All of our rooms are equipped with smoke detectors. If you hear a smoke detector alarm, please leave the floor immediately and report the alarm to a Conference Staff member or Campus Security.

Building Security
All building doors are kept locked. Your room key gives you 24-hour access to the front door of your residential building. For security reasons, doors should never be propped open. Except for the main entrance, all doors are alarmed as emergency exits.

Room Security
For your personal safety and the security of your belongings, please keep your residence doors locked at all times and carry your keys with you. The doors do not lock automatically; you must use your key, except in North Hall where the section doors will lock behind you.

Lost Keys
For security reasons, we change a lock every time a key is lost. If you lose your keys you will be charged for the re-coring of the room.

Screens
There is a $25.00 charge to anyone who removes a screen. Your hall is equipped with air conditioning, should the system be malfunctioning in your building, please ask a Conference Staff member for maintenance.

Tornadoes
If there is a tornado in the area, an advance warning siren will go off. Should you hear the siren, please go down to the lowest level of the building or into the closest bathroom and stay away from all windows. Do not panic. A Conference Staff member will inform you of the all-clear.

Conference Staff
There is always a Conference Staff member on duty and ready to assist you. Please do not hesitate to call on them. Check the front desk location in your building for information. If you need assistance after hours, a notice is always posted at the front desk on how to obtain assistance.

Campus Security and LU Campus Police
You may reach Campus Security any time of the day or night by calling 5222 from an on-campus phone. To call from a cellular or off campus phone please dial 815-836-5222. 911 emergency service is available on the main campus. From an on-campus phone you must dial 5911 and you will be directed to the °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø Campus Police. For non-emergencies, please dial the 5222 extension.
