Funding Sources
Grants.gov
is the clearinghouse for nearly all federal grant programs, including the Department of Education, National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and other federal agencies. At the Grants.gov website, one can both search for grant opportunities and (through the Office of Sponsored Programs) submit proposals for consideration.
Grant Forward
is the former Illinois Research Information Service (IRIS) database, for which °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø has a subscription through the library. Users affiliated with °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø create their own accounts the first time they log in. Grant Forward contains a mixture of federal and foundation funding sources. Note that this site is only accessible to °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø faculty and staff via Blackboard (follow the link below).
Grant Advisor
is another subscription-only, searchable database of grant opportunities. Like Grant Forward, Grant Advisor contains a combination of government and foundation grants and is available to °µºÚ±¬ÁÏÍø faculty and students via Blackboard.
Foundation Center Online
The provides a searchable database of private and public foundations that support a variety of programs. Log-in to the database requires a username and password, which is available by following the link below to Blackboard.
Proposal Central
is a free grant search tool that concentrates on grants from organizations such as the American Cancer Society and other foundations with an interest in a specific disease or health condition. Create your own log-in and password upon your first use of the site.
