STRATEGIC PLAN 2022-2027: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Students at the Center... For a Better World
More than ever, successful higher education institutions must place students at the center and meet them where they are. The days of a “one-size
fits all” approach to their education have long passed. The growing diversity and
complexity of the lives of our students necessitate a progressive and responsive
approach to ensure continued access to the benefits of a ڱ education.
Our new Strategic Plan, boldly constructed with significant contributions from
the entire ڱ community, charts a course that is visionary, ambitious and
most importantly…achievable. Built upon a nearly 350-year tradition of Lasallian
education and 90-year legacy since our founding, we will conclude this plan
as a more inclusive, significant, impactful, and life-changing institution for the
students we serve.
Our immersive educational experience, whether in-person, hybrid or virtual, will
distinguish us from other institutions as we carve out a unique niche within higher
education for ڱ to stand upon. We will be increasingly recognized for offering
a vertical range of market-responsive degrees and credentials, complemented by a
distributed approach firmly grounded in our physical campus and augmented by
an expanding range of virtual spaces.
ڱ graduates will be known for their compassion, concern, hands-on experience
and professional expertise as they move forward to lives of significance and
impact…for a better world. We will prepare them to lead in a future that will be
highly impacted by digital transformation and increasingly intricate societal issues.
We will accomplish this while also building a financial foundation that will allow for
continued investment in their experience and success.
Since our founding during the Depression Era when visionaries anticipated the
need for aviation professionals, through the arrival of the De La Salle Christian
Brothers with their student-centered and values-based philosophy of education
and now during our collective navigation brought on by the challenges of the
global pandemic, the ڱ community has demonstrated ambition, resilience, grit,
determination, and innovation. We will continue to draw upon these qualities to
advance ڱ forward to an even more promising and hopeful future.
Eight Priorities
1. ADVANCE TEACHING DISTINCTIVENESS
A ڱ education whether in-person, online or hybrid, will be steeped in Lasallian pedagogy and progressive instructional training and technology to deliver a rich, profound and purposeful student learning experience.
2. ESTABLISH THE LEWIS EXPERIENCE
Establish the ڱ Experience that promotes the holistic success of our graduates by emphasizing experiential learning, research and vocation exploration, while instilling a renewed culture of advising and mentorship.
3. MEET THE STUDENTS WHERE THEY ARE
Access to a ڱ education will be broadened through
an expanded range of programs, micro-credentials,
badges and certificates, that are aligned with the needs
of the external community and supportive of their
goals, talent objectives and workforce development.
4. FOSTER A MORE DIVERSE COMMUNITY WITH AN INCREASED SENSE OF BELONGING
Through focused programs of continuous awareness, understanding and training we will cultivate a community and culture that is universally welcoming,
supportive and encouraging of all individuals.
5. INVEST IN THE CAMPUS "CORE"
The allure of the physical campus will be amplified as we reimagine spaces, places and topography to more intentionally support the formation of community, engagement and success for all students.
6. BUILD FINANCIAL PROSPERITY
Alternative revenue sources and new strategic partnership opportunities will be targeted and cultivated to enhance our quality of earnings and close
our prosperity gap.
7. BE A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE DESIRE TO WORK
We will accentuate the structures, practices and processes to ensure that we attract, retain, develop and motivate a workforce that embodies the
demographics of the region and our student enrollment, while also equipping us with the internal intellectual capital and capacity to achieve our goals.
8. PROMOTE OUR LASALLIAN IDENTITY
Inspired by the Declaration on the Lasallian Educational Mission, we will build upon our nearly 350-year legacy to further advance our Lasallian identity and culture to benefit students and enhance the image of ڱ.
